Truth be told, they fell into the great black hole of work -- three weeks ago I was in Denver and the past two weeks I've been in LA. I'll be continuing to travel to LA for at least the next two months and possibly longer.
Sometimes I really have to wonder how some of these folks do it -- the lawyers, professors, executives, etc. who find time to post multiple times a day when I'd think they'd be much busier than I am. The Blog Dads, of course, are a team -- if one gets bogged down, the others pick up the slack. I don't have that luxury.
Part of me wonders if I'm somewhat of a seasonal blogger -- my last blogging funk was about this time last year. Maybe I'm just not meant to blog in the winter months. We're certainly not lacking for material, it's just that blogging's not as high on my priority list as other things right now. My wealthy benefactors certainly aren't getting their money's worth out of me.
Oh, wait, I forgot -- I have no wealthy benefactors. I don't have BlogAds. Not even a tip jar. I did, however, get a snotty email a couple of weeks ago asking me whose payroll I was on. It was worth a good laugh. For the record, I am not now, have never been, and have no plans to be a blogger-for-hire. I have donated to bloggers and their causes. I sent contributions to a number of candidates in the last election cycle (all but one were victorious in their races). I spent a tidy sum on my site redesign. Point being, blogging is not a profit center for me. Never expected it to be. I do this for fun, when I want to, on topics that interest me.
Anyway, blogging will still likely be intermittent until I can at least get work to not take up most of my waking hours.
